June 27 - July 1 2022, Penn State Wilkes-Barre had their summer youth camps here on campus. Our athletic department hosted a Girl's Youth Basketball Camp, lead by our own 2019 National Head Coach of the Year LeShawn Hammett and Assistant Coach Will Oliphant. 21 girls attended the camp for the week and enjoyed learning not just from an extinguished college coach and his assistant, but 2 star High School basketball players. Lake Lehman Boy's Basketball Senior LJ Hammett and Northwest Area Girl's Basketball Senior Charleigh Miner, were both in attendance to help coach the youth players in the sport they love. LJ took part in the camp as part of his senior project and Charleigh did it as part of her community service for the National Honors Society. Penn State Wilkes-Barre students Daniel Flynn and Hllie Sanchez also took part as a camp aide helping Coach Hammett. We look forward to seeing these youngsters and more at next year's camps! We are!
