Lady Lions Fall in Hard Fought Battle

After finding themselves with a reduced number of players at the start of the new year, the Penn State Wilkes-Barre women's basketball team played their first second semester game on January 11, against Penn State Schuylkill. With six players remaining, the Lions started the first quarter one point behind with a score of 12-13. The women worked hard on the court, but slowly started falling behind. At the end of the second quarter the score was 24-35. Continuing after a break for half-time, Wilkes-Barre gave it their all in the third and fourth quarters. Their final score was 51-72. Top points scorers of the game were #32 Junior Quatazia Johnson (Landover, Maryland/Northwestern High School), #22 Freshman Hannah Cook (Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania/G.A.R. Memorial High School), and #1 Sophomore Stephanie Jaramillo (Queens, New York/Bayside High School). The women's team is currently 1-6 in the conference and 2-7 overall. Wish them luck for their next game on January 15 at 1 p.m. against Penn State Greater Allegheny!
