Competition proves to be tough, Beaver Beat by Wilkes-Barre in PSUAC Play
Monaca, PA - Conference play has not been easy for the Lions as they sit with a 2-3 record entering the final weekend of game for the first half of the season. Today proved to be tough and added another loss to their conference record. Wilkes-Barre started off the game going on a 5-0 run against Beaver. Beaver was able to score one basket to end this run, but Wilkes-Barre turned around to go on a 15-0 run to put the lions down 20-2. Wilkes-Barre continue to push the gas petal and by the end of the first half they scored 50 points against Beaver and only gave up 30 points to Beaver. Down 20 going into the second half, Beaver would have to work hard to make any type of comeback. Sadly, the Lions still couldn't out score Wilkes-Barre in the final 20 minutes. Wilkes-Barre scored 43 compared to Beaver's 36. Beaver lost 93-66 to Wilkes-Barre.
Fourth year Chris Green (Washington, D.C.) was the top scorer for Beaver finishing with 20 points. Green also had 5 rebounds, 1 assist, and 6 steals. First year Alex Green () was close behind finishing with 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 assist. Third year Matt Brown (Upland, CA) finished with 10 points, 9 rebounds, and 1 assist.
The Lions will be back on the court tomorrow, December 9th, taking on Penn State Scranton. Tipoff begins at 3pm EST so be sure to come out and show your support for the final conference game of the first half of the season.
