Coach Hammett Wins His 100th As Penn State Wilkes-Barre Stays Undefeated In Conference Play.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre Men's Basketball Coach LeShawn Hammett achieved a coaching milestone this past weekend defeating Penn State Lehigh Valley 88-63. The win not only improves the team's record to 5-0 in the PSUAC conference and 7-3 overall it also gives Coach Hammett his 100th Win as a Head Coach.

PSU Wilkes-Barre got off to a hot start going into halftime with a 42-19 lead. "We played well in the first half, we pounded the ball inside to our bigs and got defensive stops that lead to some easy transition baskets" said Coach Hammett.

Coach Hammett got strong production from his starters as Jordan Williams Finished With 5 Points & 6 Rebounds, Kevin Silverberg 12 Points and Ameer Biddle Finished With 11 Points.

Kahlil White Scored 12 Points and had 5 assists off the bench and Senior Guard Jheron Dawson-Johnson finished with 8 Points 4 Assist & 4 Rebounds.

"I'm Humbled by the opportunity to be able to coach here at PSWB and also being able to Win my 100th game. The accomplishments I've Been able to achieve here at PSWB and at Cecil College will stick with me forever. I'm thankful to both schools, all the players and staffs for helping me get the opportunity to do something I love." Coach Hammett Said

Hammett who is in his 4th season at Penn State Wilkes-Barre looks to continue to push for the schools first conference championship ever and 3rd national tournament appearance in schools history.

"The guys are playing extremely well and I look forward to us trying to stay at the top of the PSUAC, we fell short of a conference  championship last year but are fighting to get back there, were national ranked at #4 in the USCAA. I think we're off to a good start."

Penn State Wilkes-Barre Men's and Women's Teams are off for holiday break until Jan 7th when they both take on PSU Scranton in conference play.
