This past season has had some amazing accomplishments for our men's basketball program and today we announce another.

Coach Hammett has become the first-ever winner of the USCAA HoopDirt.com National Coach of the Year. For the past four seasons, HoopDirt.com has given the award to coaches at the NCAA DI, DII, DIII, NAIA, and JUCO levels. This is the first season that the USCAA has been included in the program.

To qualify for the HoopDirt Coach Of The Year Award you have to win during Hoop Dirt's weekly Coach Of The Week nominations. Coach Hammett was named Coach Of The Week In Week 9 of this past season.

This has been a Historical year for our Men's Basketball Program. Coach Hammett led our Penn State Wilkes-Barre Lions to a 25-5 record and captured the USCAA DII National Championship. This year's team had a USCAA best 25 wins which were also the most in schools history.

This seasons National Championship was the first national title for PSU-Wilkes Barre, and it marked the first time a school from the PSUAC has caprured the crown.

In Coach Hammett's four seasons at Penn State Wilkes-Barre, Hammett has compiled a 70-41 (49-18 PSUAC) record. This Season Hammett's team went a near perfect 18-1 In PSUAC Conference play and a perfect 12-0 at home. In Coach Hammett's tenure he has put together an impressive 37-10 home record. His team has also made four straight post season appearences.

Coach Hammett has now been named USCAA National Coach Of The Year & HoopDirt USCAA National Coach Of The Year.
