Baseball Loses Doubleheader vs. PSU Hazleton

Yesterday, the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Baseball team lost a doubleheader to Penn State Hazleton. They lost the first game 8-7, and the second game 10-7. In the first game, PSU Hazleton jumped out to a 3-1 lead after 3 innings, but PSU Wilkes-Barre scored 5 runs in the top of the 4th inning to take the lead. During this inning, the team had RBIs from Zach Sott, Keegan Kisner, Collin Barletta, and Jordan Choman. However, PSU Hazleton regained the lead in the bottom of the 5th, scoring 4 runs. PSU Wilkes-Barre continued to fight back, tying the game on an error in the top of the 7th. Then, in the bottom of the 7th, Pitcher Colin Stauffer hit a walk-off triple to lead PSU Hazleton to victory. 

In the second game of the day, PSU Hazleton had a 6-4 lead after the 3rd inning, and never looked back from there. The top performer on offense for PSU Wilkes-Barre was David Staskiel, who was 3-4 with a double and 1 RBI. Eric Adamczyk was 2-4 with 1 RBI, Leroy Fettig had 2 RBIs, and Jordan Choman had 3 RBIs. For PSU Hazelton, they got a complete game from Pitcher Charles Karchner. On offense, they were led by Tanner Lawrence (3-4 with 4 RBIs) and Adam Michalesko (2-4 with 3 RBIs). 

Penn State Wilkes-Barre finishes the regular season 10-5-1, which puts them in 2nd in the East Division in the PSUAC. They will host Penn State Schuylkill on Friday at 3pm for a 7 inning win or go home playoff game.
