On Saturday, September 24, 2022 Penn State Wilkes-Barre (PSWB) baseball was back for some Fall Ball action! Going on the road to play Penn State Scranton (PSSN) in a double header at Matt McGloin Field in Scranton. The teams split the series 1-1 with PSSN taking the first game 6-5 and PSWB taking the second game 16-13.

In the 6-5 defeat PSWB fought back after going down 4-0 in the first inning, but the comeback fell just short. In the thrid inning PSWB scored on an error and a 2-run Home Run over the Right Field scoreboard by Sophmore #9 Pedro Rosario (Reading, PA/Wyomissing Area). Rosario also had a RBI Double in the seventh and Freshman #4 Mark Downey (Austin, TX/Westwood High) showed good plate discipline getting a RBI walk.

Penn State Scranton's runs came on an error, a pair of doubles by Zachary Benson and Mark Longo, and a 2-run Home Run by Paolo Fiorini.

In the 16-13 victory runs, errors, and walks were aplenty for both sides. Penn State Wilkes-Barre (PSWB) would collect 9-hits and 11-walks with the help of 3 errors from Penn State Scranton's (PSSN) defense. As PSSN would collect 6-hits and 10-walks with 4 errors from PSWB's defense. For PSWB Rosario, Freshman #31 Enai Fernandez (Perth Amboy, NJ/Perth Amboy High School), and Junior #19 Matt Mager (Northval, NJ/Northen Valley Old Tappen) led the team with 3-RBI's each while Freshman #2 Maximus Cuevas led the hitting going 3 for 3 at the plate.
