Wilkes-Barre Outmatched by King’s College

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre men's baseball team headed to King's College on April 12, their second time taking on the Monarchs this season after a tough 20-10 loss in late March. In the top of the first inning, #12 senior Juan Carlos Vidal singled a ball up the middle of the field to advance to first. In the top of the third inning, #2 freshman Maximus Cuevas made a single down the left field line, followed by #7 freshman Enai Fernandez, who helped Cuevas round to third base. Cuevas made it home, scoring the first run. In the top of the fifth, Juan Vidal hit a home run, giving the Mountain Lions their second run. Right field #11 freshman Andrew Mentzer and #5 freshman Walter Ninotti caught multiple fly balls in the outfield. Unfortunately, the Mountain Lions could not keep up with King's falling 21-2 by the game's end. Wilkes-Barre will look to capture its first win of the season this weekend, taking on Penn State Brandywine on their home field on April 15 at 1 p.m.
