Mountain Lions win in consistent lead over Penn State Brandywine

On Saturday, Feb. 3, the Penn State Wilkes-Barre men's basketball team played Penn State Brandywine at 3 p.m. 

Although Brandywine made the first points of the half, #14 senior Teequan Holley (Queens, New York/Sullivan C.C.) quickly followed with a jump shot. The Mountain Lions quickly gained the lead when #12 senior Jalen Willis (Baltimore, Maryland/Genesse C.C.) made a layup at the net. 

With an assist by Willis, #2 junior Elijah Perez (Bronx, New York/Stevenson High School) sank a three-point shot. At the midway point of the half, #4 junior Rashod Ballard (Largo, Maryland/Ann Arundel C.C.) made a jump shot, putting the Mountain Lions 10 points ahead. 

With a little over three minutes in the half, #13 junior Jedidiah Ashton (Brooklyn, New York/Monroe College) made a layup, securing a 15-point lead for Wilkes-Barre. The last points of the half were made by #25 junior Allen Ozojie (Union, New Jersey/Brookdale C.C.) who completed a layup at the net. 

The score at the end of the half was 36-22 Wilkes-Barre. 

The first points of the second half were scored by Jalen Willis, who made a layup. Brandywine slowly climbed their way up the board, gaining on the Mountain Lions in points. 

With Brandywine less than 10 points behind, #1 junior Dennis Cash (Moreno Valley, California/Moreno Valley) made a layup. Wilkes-Barre would keep their lead for the remainder of the game.  

The final score was 71-54 Wilkes-Barre. Top points scorers of the game were Jalen Willis with 14, Teequan Holley with 14, and Elijah Perez with 8.
