Lady Lions Survive OT to Win 2nd Straight.

Dallas, PA - The Lady Lions traveled to PSU Wilkes-Barre yesterday, looking to make it tow straight PSUAC crossover victories in as many days.

New Kensington fell behind early, but never let things get out of hand on their way to a 24-16 halftime deficit. The Lady Lions got hot in the second half, slowly chipping away at the lead on their way to forcing overtime at 53-53 on a jumper by sophomore point guard, Destiny Batiste (Thibodaux, LA).

New Kensington carried their momentum into the extra period, outscoring Wilkes-Barre 11-4 on their way to a 64-57 victory.

The Lady Lions displayed a balance attach all night. Freshmen forward Esther Cole (Brooklyn, NY) and freshmen guard Najah Perryman (Woodbridge, VA) led all scorers with 18 points a piece. Cole finished with a double-double , securing 10 rebounds, while Perryman added 8 boards and 7 assists. Batiste chipped in 14 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 assists. Senior forward Shaylynne Boitnott (Meadville, PA) was the fourth Lady Lion to finish in double figures on the night , with 10 points of her own.

New Kensington will look to make it three straight when they return from Christmas break on January 6, 2023 to host Kent State - Tuscarawas at the athletic center.
